About Waldbart
The manufactory & wood workshop

Founder Profile

Waldbart was founded in Schöneiche in 2021 by Denny König. Denny is a trained forester, experienced craftsman, and engineer for product development and manufacturing. The company combines years of experience in the forestry and timber industry with extensive knowledge of craftsmanship and engineering. As a forester with the Berlin Forestry Authority, Denny learned timber and forestry management from the ground up. Sustainable work was an integral part of his daily work.

"Sustainability is very important to me and my family. We want our planet to remain livable for everyone in the future."

Denny is a family man and a true outdoorsman. In his free time, he uses every free minute to explore nature with his family. The founder comes from a family of craftsmen and learned to appreciate working with his hands at an early age. There was always something to build or repair, and because it was incredibly fun, he was able to learn a variety of craft skills from his grandfather and father at an early age.

A degree in industrial engineering with a focus on construction, electrical engineering and production technology as well as years of professional experience in product development, including at the Berlin loudspeaker manufacturer Teufel, round off his profile.

The desire to combine these worlds with his passion for craftsmanship and the material wood ultimately led to the founding of his own company, in which he combines the worlds of design, construction and manufacturing with his interdisciplinary approach as a problem solver.

About the manufactory and wood workshop

Our workshop rooms are located in a community courtyard in the beautiful Hessenwinkel, a district in Berlin Rahnsdorf directly on the Dämmeritzsee and not far from the Müggelsee. In addition to our wood factory, the Paul Schuricht car workshop is also located on the farm, a real old-school screwdriver workshop. For our wood workshop, we have converted and modernized part of an old workshop hall for motor vehicles. Equipped with all the necessary machines for traditional wood processing, the manufactory offers enough space to implement large projects. But our rooms are more than a classic workshop. In a cozy atmosphere and with a sometimes artistic ambience, they should invite you to meet, exchange ideas and get to know new things. The perfect place for families and also the team of colleagues to realize their own wishes together at Waldbart.

Sustainability at Waldbart - Our principles

Being creative and working with our hands is our passion. Just like the promise to work consistently and sustainably. As a forester, the founder Denny at Waldbart attaches particular importance to sustainable working methods. What can be done by hand is also done by hand. Waldbart does not shy away from a genuine shellac polish or fine-tuning by hand. The less machine use, the more sustainable. If it is necessary and "handmade" is no longer possible, modern, efficient machines are also used. Our principles:

Natural materials

Wood is Waldbart's No.1 material, it is natural, healthy, renewable and permanently stores bound CO2. That is why we consciously rely on our favorite material for our products. We consistently avoid unnecessary chemical substances.

Individuality and longevity

We only manufacture small quantities and consciously rely on individual products of high quality. This increases longevity and is good for all of us

Upcycling

What is left over can often be reused, what was intended for bulky waste can often be used for a new purpose. Waldbart always strives to produce as little waste as possible and to reuse leftovers.

Renewable Energies

We work exclusively with electricity from renewable energies.

Short distances & Regionality

Our wood comes from local forests in the region. As a forester, founder Denny attaches particular importance to the origin of the materials used. Only wood from certified sustainable forestry is used. Waldbart avoids unnecessarily long transport routes. If other trades or services are used, we do this in the immediate vicinity.

No tropical wood, no overexploitation

Sure, tropical woods are highly aesthetic and have very impressive properties, but their origin is often difficult to trace. Therefore, as a matter of principle, Waldbart does not use tropical woods.

Repair whats repairable

Maintaining and fixing things is not only fun, but also good for the environment. We are always trying in the first place  Carry out repairs when feasible.

Social fairness

Sustainability also means social compatibility. For this reason, Waldbart supports an orphanage in Kenya, the Mama Paulina Academy in Migori, not far from Lake Victoria, with his income.
